BANGKOK THAILAND TRAVEL GUIDE
Bangkok Travel Guide - Bangkok is a large, noisy, congested, and crowded city. However, you can also find quiet temple courtyards, peaceful alleys and the golden towers and Buddha statues of the city´s temples and palaces. Bangkok is not the real name of the city, locals refer to it as the City of Angels” or Krung Thep. It was founded by King Rama I, who also built Wat Phra Keaw, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the Grand Palace.
Thailand is famous for its quality handicrafts,
but most of the items offered in the shops of Bangkok have
not been produced there but in the North of the country. Lacquerware,
carvings, ceramics and china all make nice souvenirs. Thai
silk is famous around the world and a lot of tailors offer
a twenty four hour service.
Bangkok is a city that is larger than life.
It is a blend of the traditional East with the modern West,
Every street has a surprise in hold for the visitor. Ramshackle
buildings are next to exotic temples surrounded by delightful
gardens, which are overlooked by modern Bangkok Hotels. Traditional
Thai life is never far away. Saffron robed monks are seen
collecting alms and communities still live in stilt houses
by the river.
Thailand is a tropical country and hot throughout the year.
The best time to Visit Bangkok is between
November and March, during the dry season. In the rainy season
the streets of Bangkok are often flooded.
